Let The Complaining Begin

I had to call the local council today to inquire about our garbage and recycle bins.
“Sure, come in and pay the $150 and we’ll get them to you in a few days.”
$150 for bins? What exactly are our rates for? This whole not renting thing is proving to be very costly.
Uh yeah. We had the exact same issue. Don’t even get us started on parking permits.
Welcome to the wonderful world of home ownership. (Though I wonder if the fee for the privilege of having the only bins they’ll accept might be due to yours being a new house. Or maybe it’s just your local council?)
I would theorise that you are entitled to basic bins. You are being asked to pay for something extra.
Could be the new house thing, ours was new too!
No our council has a seperate fee for the bins. And you have a choice of sizes and whether you want a garden recycling bin too. Rates are for other things
